Around 1.2 billion people, or almost one-fifth of the world’s population, live in areas of physical scarcity, and 500 million people are approaching this situation. Another 1.6 billion people, or almost one quarter of the world’s population, face economic water shortages (where countries lack the necessary infrastructure to take water from rivers and aquifers).
Even though only 1 percent of all existing water is drinkable, there actually is enough for everyone on the planet. The problem we face is distribution. Getting the available water from places of abundance to areas of deprivation. This is what Amazone Resources will set out to achieve.
Amazone Resources has developed a green and efficient way to transport vast quantities of fresh water around the globe. By using sustainable water sources and transportation methods with low Co2 footprints, we can provide the world with fresh water without hurting the planet.
Our business model will benefit the source nations through royalty payments, direct investments in social and economic development and in contributions to environmental projects. We will do this in close cooperation with Conservation International and other environmental agencies. Supplied Nations will benefit from obtaining a reliable, cost-effective, high quality source of fresh water. It will reduce the requirement for expensive and polluting desalination plants and greatly improve the standard of living in these areas for their local populations. Also there will be enough water to support increased agricultural development, reducing the costs associated with importing food and enabling the possibility of exports in the future.
Amazone Resources has been granted a 40 year term to extract fresh surface water from Suriname. The quantities are large enough to reduce water shortages in all countries in the region, while not having any significant impact on the ecosystems in Surinam. The abundance of water coming from the Guayana shield is so vast that it produces 15 percent of all fresh water on our planet. This source is sustainable and is replenished every year by the heavy monsoons in the rain forest.
From Surinam, Amazone Resources can transport fresh water to any location in the world, using efficient and green technology. Our first deliveries shall take place in the Caribbean region in 2016.
Fresh water is essential to sustain life. But with a rapidly growing population, global warming and an ever increasing usage of water per capita, supplies are under intense pressure and will continue to be so unless we implement change now. If the water supply continues to deteriorate in parts of the world, the effects on health, housing and political stability could be huge. Transporting water isnʼt a luxury itʼs fast becoming a necessity. There are alternatives to fossil fuels such as oil but there are no substitutes for water – no water, no life.
By extracting pure, pristine water from the fresh water rivers of Surinam, Amazone resources has access to a sustainable and readily available supply to ship to our clients, wherever they require it. By utilising specially developed ʻwater bagsʼ, transported by energy efficient tug boats we minimise any environmental impact. The water is immediately ready for use and is very easy to convert to drinking water. It can also be used to replenish depleted acquifers and correct subterranean damage thatʼs perhaps been caused by years of underground extraction.
This volume of fresh water flows into the ocean every year from the Suriname rivers. This water ranks among the cleanest and purest in the world. Its a natural resources the likes of which is unparalleled on our planet and a treasure for the world. Itʼs a pure, natural resource of fresh water, thereʼs no equivalent anywhere else on the planet. Itʼs a source of great pride for the people of Surinam that sharing their water will alleviate some serious global problems and contribute to the well being of millions of people around the world.
Amazone Resources has secured permission for the next 40 years, to utilise between 6 – 12% of this water for nations and organisations who require clean, affordable water. Our goal is to alleviate water scarcity around the world and provide a pure source of natural water to wherever it is needed, delivering it with minimal environmental and ecological impact.
